14th July 2013 – Bastille Day

Celebration: Bastille Day

Mission: Go to a French restaurant for lunch

Status: Failed

Notes: On this day in 1789, the citizens of Paris stormed the Bastille, a prison known for holding political prisoners who spoke against the monarchy. It turned out that there were only seven people locked up there on that day, none of which of political importance, but it was the principle that counted. Feudalism was abolished the following month and France became a republic.
