14th April 2013 – Black Day (South Korea)

Celebration: Black Day (South Korea)

Mission: Eat the traditional noodles with black bean sauce

Status: Failed

Notes: South Korea’s Black Day is the antithesis of White Day, which itself is a response to Valentine’s Day. Typically, the girls & women would give gifts to boys & men on Valentine’s Day, and then one month later on 14th March – White Day – the boys & men would give gifts to girls & women. Then, another month later on 14th April – Black Day – everyone who didn’t get any presents would get together and eat black bean noodles and celebrate/sulk at being single.

Having celebrated Valentine’s Day, I’m technically excluded from celebrating Black Day.
And I had pizza anyway.
